  Nature
Harstena, the fishing paradise with its special culture, located in the outer archipelago attracts many visitors and makes them to return year after year. Perhaps it is to meet the local people, seeing the fishermen returning with their catch after a day's fishing or to take in the sight of the characteristic archipelago cabins and the boat houses surrounding the fishing harbour. Perhaps it is because of the enjoyment of the countryside where flora and fauna gives many rich experiences and where the change between seasons is so tangible.

Summer
Summer
The summer is a perfect time to stroll and have pleasant days at the cliffs, possibly with a fishing rod in your hand. Perch fillet with this year's first chantarelle sauce and blueberries with milk as dessert are delicious. Many are the artists who have tried to capture the light from the rocky islets and have been fascinated by the horizon where the ocean and sky floats together blurred to an endless space. To stand at the ocean a late summer's day in blinding sunlight and crisp autumn air is to experience a time of change.

Autumn
Autumn
Autumn can vary from clear, silent days in a calm bay to days when the roar from the ocean's powerful waves echoes from the rocks at the beach. Autumn brings a strong feeling of nature's force and grandness. The migratory birds are preparing for their journeys. No need for a calendar, they know when it is september. The spotted flycatchers, reed warblers, pied wagtails, and blackcaps are some of the birds that will leave us only to return in the spring.

Winter
Winter
Winter in the archipelago can bring tormenting winds around the corners of the house and challenging journeys over the ice going fishing or travelling to the mainland. The snow drifts around changing the landscape. Skiing and skating can be the best ways to travel in these conditions. Winter offers many intense experiences for those brave enough to challenge the weather.

Spring
Spring
Spring brings brighter days. You can get out and see the sun rise from the sea an early morning. Suddenly the migratory birds have returned and from the sea you can hear the characteristic calls from the long-tailed ducks and the eiders. Feel the inspiration for strolling out in the country where the vegetation is once more vitalized by the warm sunrays, and bees and bumblebees awakens.
